All homes and commercial establishments dispose of their toilet waste through septic tank systems. We have three vacuum trucks which operate all over the island, pumping these tanks when required, as well as pumping portable toilets and other hazardous waste as required.

The septic is discharged at the Tapuhia landfill septic beds, which have been designed especially for this purpose.

We have three double units on trailers (with lighting for night-time use). These are flush-toilets and have a sink for hand-washing as well.

Six single units are also available. These are popular for use at events, ceremonies and funerals

This is a new direction for the company, and is being developed because it has been documented that the amount of green waste entering the current rubbish dump is approximately 50% of the total rubbish entering the dump.

Green waste should not be placed in the new landfill, so making an area for green waste dumping, and utilizing it as a base for composting and recycling of some of the wood waste, will offer residents of Tongatapu an alternative to burning their green waste, and a good supply of soil enriching compost for purchase.
